Dryer Vent Inspection in San Antonio, TX

The dryer gets pulled forward first. We unplug it or shut the gas valve, then disconnect the transition duct behind it. That short piece tells us a lot. Original flexible foil or vinyl duct still sits behind plenty of 1950s-70s ranch laundry rooms here. Next we run a camera into the wall or ceiling stub and push it toward the termination. Airflow gets measured at the outside cap with the dryer running. Then we go look at the cap itself.
Where the run goes decides the rest. Garage laundry corners vent through the garage wall or up through the ceiling. Two-story subdivision homes usually have 20-35 feet of attic duct with two or more elbows ending at a roof cap. Those runs need a walk in the attic, not just a camera.
Common findings: lint packed against roof-cap screens and bird or wasp screens. Crushed flex behind a pedestal washer in a tight closet. Duct sagging between joists into a lint-trapping belly. Condensation shows up inside attic duct during January cold fronts. Cedar and oak pollen plus construction caliche dust stiffen the mat.
Most households here want this looked at yearly. Pets, big families, long attic runs, or old flex duct shorten that to every 6-9 months.
